My mother was in her 90’s, blind, and unable to walk when placed in the care of Mary and Cliff. They treated her as though she was a part of their family and because she was happy and well cared for, I never had a moment’s worry. I highly recommend them to anyone whose loved one requires extra care.

My grandmother, Dorothy, has been a resident at Island Crest AFH for several years. She & I have both noticed a pleasant turn around since Cliff & Mary have become the new owners. The residence is much nicer & has a homey feeling: freshly painted pretty colors in the entire house, new furniture, new curtains, and updated restrooms with wider doorways making is easier for residents with walkers & wheelchairs. New energy efficient windows have been installed & the overgrown trees & shrubs have been trimmed too. The employees go out of their way to get to know the residents & make them comfortable. It's very nice & relaxing visiting my family member once a week & I truly can see the changes have a positive effect on my grandmother too. 

For several years, including the hospice experience, our mother was gently and lovingly cared for by Cliff and Mary at Madrona Place. The care was skillful and compassionate and met all our mother’s needs. The group home setting and harmonious atmosphere at Madrona Place Senior Care helped to make the transition from our family home to a care facility much smoother. Cliff and Mary were always open to allowing family members to visit. Our mother’s joy and gratitude in her final years were a testimony to being in the right place. We are so grateful for Madrona Place and Cliff and Mary’s excellent care.

We are so grateful that Mom’s last few years were spent with Mary, Cliff and Alex. I know Mom could be a handful at times, but Mary was so kind and caring. Mom truly loved them all. I never felt bad leaving her when I left for the day. My sister and I are hoping they have a spot for us when the time comes.

I lost the use of my legs and moved into Cliff & Mary's home 8/1/2018. I am totally bedridden and have become completely dependent on them. They are punctual with my medicines, prompt to respond to my "Help Buzzer", and they even let me choose meals that won't upset my touchy stomach. The meals are always delicious, by the way. They always treat me with courtesy, and respect. They always have big bright smiles on their faces, and truly care about my comfort, and well-being. I have begun to think of them more as friends than care-givers. I whole-heartedly recommend Madrona Place Senior Care.

Since moving Mom to Madrona Place Senior Care, she has been well cared for. I have come to visit, and she is getting her nails painted. They work hard to give her a quality life. She is always clean and happy.

Owners of Island Crest Adult Family Home, Cliff and Mary, and home caregivers, Carol and Alex, always made us feel welcome. They maintained the home with consummate care and competency and Carol‘s amazing gift for indoor gardening. Mom expressed appreciation for the perfect balance between caring supervision and opportunities for privacy, the lovely warm welcoming feel of the home and the skill and kindness of the entire Island Crest Adult Family Home team. We were never very far from her during this time, but it was comforting to know that if for some reason we had been unavailable, she would have been well taken care of in our absence... eternal gratitude and high praise from our family to Island Crest Adult Family Home. I am writing to say that Cliff and Mary Nyachae are angels sent to me through my prayers for caregivers for my dear mother. They cared for her when she was at an Adult Family Home in Kent and when they moved and opened an Adult Family Home in Edmonds I followed them at my mother's request. I slept peacefully at night knowing that she was being lovingly cared for physically, emotionally and Spiritually! They saw her through the end of her life in a loving and dignified way and for that, I will always be grateful!

My mom has been living at Island Crest Adult Family Home for over six months, and I am so grateful for the loving care she receives there. The caregivers are consistent and engaged with the residents and make the place feel like home. If there were stars or ratings for adult family homes, I would give Island Crest Adult Family Home five stars and two thumbs UP!
